Roasting Technique

The most crucial element in creating "Nagi-doki" is the presence of the "Hi-ire-shi" (Roasting Master) who oversees the delicate process. Relying on years of experience and sharp intuition, the master instantly reads the condition of the tea leaves and adjusts the heat minute by minute. It is as if an artist is engaging in a dialogue with the tea leaves to draw out the optimal aroma and umami flavor.

The Perfect Roast

Our roasting process reaches temperatures of precisely 200°C, maintained for exactly the right duration to bring out the tea's natural sweetness without bitterness. The result is a perfectly balanced Hojicha with deep caramel notes and a smooth, comforting finish that soothes both body and mind.

How to Enjoy

Traditional Hot Brew

Steep 3g of hojicha with 150ml of hot water (80°C) for 30 seconds. Perfect for experiencing the rich, roasted aroma and deep flavor.

Hojicha Latte

Mix 4g of hojicha with warm milk (200ml) for a creamy, nutty latte. The roasted notes create a uniquely comforting beverage.

Iced Hojicha

Brew strong hojicha and pour over ice for a refreshing drink. The cold brings out the tea's natural sweetness and makes it perfect for any time of day.
